Re: Edward Gorey Biography Review
Oh no, I didn't see that Edward Gorey house is selling Dery's book... Yes, please do write to them. I should probably do something about that too, it just gets exhausting. I believe Michel Foucault wrote about enforced ignorance when it comes to matters of sexuality (and neurodiversity too, I'd add)...

Re: Edward Gorey Biography Review
I know right, sooo bad.
(I'll let you in on a lil secret: I never finished the book. I was in danger of chucking it across the room and breaking the TV or something.)

Re: Drawing Development and Children - can I use your child's drawing to promote an open call for art?
Hi Kate, Thanks for reaching out. The child is now a teenager and is very happy for you to use their drawing, which they'd completely forgotten about. I'm guessing you mean this one. https://www.slaphappylarry.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/childhood-house.jpg The image I had uploaded was a little s...

Re: The Golden Ages of children´s literature
The First and Second Golden Ages of Children's Literature certainly isn't a concept made up by me. The stuff about the Third and "Fourth Golden Age" (not a thing?) is my own speculation about how modern books seem different now. I published that post years ago and add new bits and pieces occasionall...

If you ever need references for a paper, try the library of the institution in which you're enrolled. Your fees should include access to many journals. I recommend asking one of the librarians for further help.

Re: Natural painting software shootout
Hi Dave, It really depends on personal preference when the price is so similar. I would say don't bother with Rebelle 3 unless you have a powerful graphics card. The way the paint interacts with the paper is expensive on your hardware. Assuming you have a decent graphics card (mine is a few years ol...

Re: Five Guys in Silicon Valley and elsewhere
Good point, I've only ever seen one Queer Eye episode -- the one that was shot locally (in Yass). It was a Big Deal when those guys arrived in town. Are their personalities amped up to similar extremes? I left Christopher Robin out of the Pooh ensemble because he's basically functioning as narrator,...

Re: Naïve illustration in picture books
Traugot had nine brothers? Three of them were artists, I'm guessing? (I've only ever seen three mentioned.)
I hope their parents had a well-stocked larder for their teenage years.
