Golf R brakes squeaking in the heat - anyone tried different pads?

Post by voidRider33 »

Love my Golf R, absolutely brilliant car for zipping around Dubai, but the brake squeak is driving me up the wall. Every time I'm crawling in traffic or pulling into a parking spot, they make this noise like an old bus. The dealer says it's normal for performance pads and the heat makes it worse, but I can't believe every Golf R in the city sounds like this. I've tried bedding them in again, tried braking harder, nothing seems to help permanently. A few days after any attempt, the noise comes back. I'm starting to think maybe switching to a different pad compound might be the answer. Been looking around for a shop that knows VWs well and found one offering Volkswagen car brake pad replacement Dubai that claims to carry multiple options including some quieter compounds. Before I pull the trigger though, anyone here with a Golf or GTI found a pad that actually stays quiet in our climate? Don't want to lose the stopping power but I'm willing to give up a tiny bit of performance for some peace and quiet. Also curious if ceramic pads are a good option for these cars or if they change the feel too much.
