Heading to Kyiv next month

Post by kayos67753 »

Hi everyone! I’m a bit nervous about the air raids for my upcoming trip to Kyiv. What’s the official protocol for tourists? I want to make sure I have the right apps or websites bookmarked so I know exactly where to go if things get loud. Any tips?

I totally get the nerves, but it's very organized. I went to the VisitKyiv site to see details on the current safety rules. The big thing to remember is that public transport stops during an alert, so you might have to walk to a shelter.
Definitely download the Air Alert app - it gives you a loud warning even if your phone is on silent. If you’re outside, just head for the metro or an underground passage. The site also mentions "Points of Invincibility" which are great if you need a place with power and Wi-Fi during longer alerts. Just keep an eye on the app, know where your closest basement is, and you’ll be totally fine. It becomes second nature pretty quickly!
