U4GM Why Are M8A1 and Dravec 45 Ruling BO7 Beta Tips Guide

A couple matches into the Black Ops 7 beta and you’ll feel it: aim and weapon choice are carrying harder than flashy movement, and if you’re trying to keep up with sweaty lobbies you might even peek at stuff like CoD BO7 Boosting just to stay on pace while you figure out what actually wins gunfights. The balance isn’t “broken,” but it is tight. Pick the wrong tool and you’re losing duels before you even finish your slide.

Assault Rifles: safe picks vs. slow power
If you want an AR that won’t fight you, the M15 MOD 0 is the easy answer. It’s calm, predictable, and it lets you focus on tracking instead of babysitting recoil. The MXR-17 is the other vibe entirely: it punches at range, but it makes you feel heavy. You can’t play frantic with it. You post up, pre-aim, and let people walk into your shots. Then there’s the Peacekeeper MK1, which feels like it’s begging you to sprint at everything. Fast fire rate, lots of kick, and it’ll punish you if you get lazy with your bursts.

SMGs: the beta’s comfort zone
SMGs are where a lot of players are settling because the maps and pacing reward quick trades. The Dravec 45 is the standout. It’s not just “good up close,” it stays usable when the fight stretches out a bit, which is rare right now. If you’re the type who lives inside doorways, the Razor 9mm and the Ryden 45k can delete people fast, but you’re basically agreeing to chaos past short range. The Graz 45k is more forgiving and easier to keep on target, though it doesn’t always give you that instant win feeling in a straight-up duel.

Marksman and Snipers: lane control matters
The weapon that keeps making people rage-swap is the M8A1 marksman rifle. That four-round burst is ridiculously tidy, and if your crosshair’s on point you’ll take heads off before full-auto guns even settle. It’s also the kind of gun that makes holding a lane feel unfair, especially on long sightlines. For sniping, the VS Recon delivers the clean, satisfying chest one-shots you expect, while the XR-3 ION has that awkward burst delay that can throw your timing off when a target jiggles or shoulder-peeks.

Secondaries and heavy options: don’t ignore the backup plan
A lot of deaths in this beta happen mid-reload, so having a secondary you trust isn’t optional. The Jäger 45 is the steady “save my life” pistol when your primary clicks empty. The CODA 9 is fun because it’s basically a tiny spray machine, but it chews ammo like crazy, so you’ve gotta pick your moment. And if you’re playing objective and want to be the problem, the MK.78 LMG can lock a zone down as long as you accept you’re not going to run around like it’s an SMG; if you’re trying to climb faster, CoD BO7 Boosting buy can be tempting, but the real edge still comes from building around the Dravec 45 or the M8A1 and playing to what they do best.
