Naïve illustration in picture books

It was particularly interesting how Slap Happy Larry put in Maud Lewis, as I don't know if people outside Canada would have encountered her before adulthood.

All the great styles and techniques.

It makes me think of a great tech saying:
Easy is hard
.

And when I was reading about Traugot I thought he had nine brothers instead of only three.

Traugot had nine brothers? Three of them were artists, I'm guessing? (I've only ever seen three mentioned.)

I hope their parents had a well-stocked larder for their teenage years.
