Do tempo travellers have oxygen cylinders for Kedarnath and Badrinath high altitude?

Post by ajaysengar »

Honestly, no tempo travellers come with oxygen cylinders as standard equipment. It is not a built-in feature of the vehicle itself.

That said, for Kedarnath and Badrinath trips, many experienced drivers who regularly run these routes do carry a basic oxygen cylinder on request especially if the group has elderly members or anyone with a history of breathing issues. You just need to ask the operator specifically when booking and confirm it in writing.

What actually helps more at these altitudes is acclimatising properly, staying hydrated, avoiding heavy meals before the climb, and not rushing the ascent. Most altitude discomfort on these routes is manageable without medical oxygen unless someone has a pre-existing condition.
If oxygen support is genuinely important for your group, also consider keeping a personal portable oxygen can. They are lightweight, affordable, and available at most hill station pharmacies.

When you book your tempo traveller on rent in Delhi, simply mention the high-altitude route upfront so the operator can prepare accordingly.
